when will it end

When will it end?

When will it end?

The shooting,

The stabbing,

The kidnapping,

The crying.

When will it end?

The tears running down the faces,

The vigils on the front step,

The candle flames burning out.

As the flames subside,

People forget the terrors,

And the wrongs in our society,

But when will there be a right?

When will justice be served?

When will it end?
