When You Did Not Have To


Dear Grandma,

Thank you for taking care of my mom while she was sick, even though you did not have to.

Thank you for taking in me and my brothers when she passed, when you did not have to.

Thank you for taking out the time to teach me how to be a young lady, and you were glad to. 

Thank you for believing in me when I had no one else to.

Now, it is my job to live up to those expectations and do my best to make you proud, because I have to.
