When You Know It's Real

Healthy relationships can be hard

But ultimately, they’re the best thing you could ever wish for

You could be at a point in life where you’re struggling to get by

Your parents could be getting a divorce,

You could be giving 150% into your schoolwork and still not be passing,

The whole universe could seem to be weighing down on you

But when you’re with that one person,

The person that loves and cares about you,

All of those worries suddenly feel a lot easier to manage

All of your worries aren’t just your worries anymore.

Whether it’s a friend or a significant other,

They take your problems and don’t try to fix everything,

But they guide you while you fix yourself

They reassure you that you’re not alone,

and that no matter what happens they’ll still love you

They don’t just tell you that they love you,

But they show it with gestures

They take you out of the house that you’ve been stuck in for three days because you’re stressed

They buy you flowers on random days to surprise you and prove that they’re in it 100%

Healthy relationships are a lot of work

But if someone is willing to put time and energy into your relationship just to make you happy,

Don’t turn your shoulder on them,

that’s when you know it’s real
