When You Left

I thought it was good

None done bad

I was glad that you were what I had

Two whole years, we were off and on

Just to wake up one day to find you gone

Everyone thought it wouldn’t last

But they didn’t understand what we had

I don’t regret you

I don’t regret us

Even though it was all just lust

You left one day in the morning to some place unknown

You never warned anyone not even your own

You ran away in a time I was in need

There was no one to talk to

You were all that I had

Until that one day that it all turned bad

New York, they say

Michigan too

Ohio or maybe Wisconsin too

I don’t know where you are

I don’t know where you went but wherever you go

Always remember I don’t regret the time that we spent

I am 15 years old and a sophomore in high school, but I graduate early so I will be graduating at the end of my junior year next year. I love to write poetry and recite it. I go to poetry slams often and I am in Poetry Interpretation for UIL.
