When You Lose Someone

Why did you have to leave so soon?

Didn’t you know it wasn’t your time?

Everything seems so strange and out of tune

Like snow in mid-July

The house is empty now that you’re gone

Your memories haunt every room

I can still hear you play that sad song

Under the midnight sliver moon

Oh, why did you have to go?

Didn’t you know we needed you here?

The sky cries for you out the window

Everybody has shed so many tears

I am still frozen in that winter

Even though it’s been many years

Even in the spring the flowers wither

Oh, I’d give anything to have you here
