When You Quit

Dreaming to sing that one note,
Striving to hit that one pose,
Hoping to achieve that one part,
But just not getting it.

Studying your brains out,
Practicing your ass off,
Searching until the point that you blind yourself,
But just not getting it.

Swimming till the ocean stops,
Running till your breathing stops,
Walking till the earth stops,
But just not getting it.

Thinking till your thoughts quit,
Crying till your heart quits,
Trying till you quit...

Because when you quit,
It's all over.
No more dreaming.
No more striving.
No more hoping.

Not a single day of studying.
Not a single year of practicing.
Not a lifetime of searching.
Simply because you quit.

For when you quit,
You can't swim
You can't run.
You cant even walk.

Never will you think.
Or cry.
Or try.
Why? Because you quit.
