From where

From the tears dropped on my bathtub

From the sweat of my dad from being in the sun

From the tears that slipped out of my moms eyes

From my brothers hugs and laughs

From my sisters “I love you’s”

From my friends phone calls and jokes

From the cumbia coming from my tia’s kitchen

From the teachers who gave me warm smiles

From my grandma’s departure from this world

From my heavy heart and cloudy mind

From the heartbreaks I’ve endured

From the music that dances in my room

From the books piled on the side of my bed

From the silent prayers said at night

From within
