Where am I from?

I am from a family that always seems to put the fun in dysfunctional, from marshmallow guns, and playing in the mud. I am from the green room where murals line the walls, from brightly lit campsites, and a yard full of boats. I am from the tall tiger lilies that lined the house, and the trough of bright red strawberries in the rock garden. I am from Christmas Eve dinner and the sound of rambunctious kids, Grandma’s apple pie and everyone else's recipe that doesn’t even come close. I am from family dinner night as often as possible, laughing so hard your sides hurt, and quickly learning not to let Dad take anymore “shortcuts”. From “Don’t cross the road” and “look before you leap”, to “mind your P’s and Q’s”.I am from Carve Rock bible school, slipping up from time to time, but always trying to stay awake in church. I am from a “Water Tower Town” with only two stoplights, from Dairy Cheer milkshakes and greasy slices of Giovanni’s pizza. From spicy Chinese kimchi, to Big Bang Theory night and hiking Natural Bridge in flip-flops.I am from Waddles, the tiny stuffed penguin that sits above my bed, from scrapbooks filled with pictures, souvenir pennies and from the family that always puts the “fun” in “dysfunctional”
