Where Am I
Where Am I
I ask confused
it's almost like somone blew a short circuit on a fuse
so where am I
I muse
this isn't real but it feels real
maybe if I blink I'll discover it was just a drill
but no
this is the real deal.
How is it real I ask,
again where am I
no one knows but we all laugh it off
words go unspoken
and now were too far out.
So again I ask where am I
yesterday I was in a dream
now we hear screams of the innocent
begging for the bare minimum
mercy, that is
so I ask again where am I.
I can't seem to recognize what we've become
basic rights thrown out the door
what more can billionaires possibly want
what more will we turn our attention from
Where am I
I ask
is this the same place that I once roam
well now it doesn't feel like home
where is the place full of basic rights
empathy
freedom
the place that was once my home.
Again I ask
Where Am I.
I ask again
Is this the world
if not
then where is the world
the one I once knew
this one seems
too blue
too few
too inhumane
so I ask again
where is the world I once thought I knew
Where am I
I ask again
Where Am I.
