Where Am I From?
Where I am From Poem
Jordan Sokol
I am from the wind
Blowing the leaves
on the ever growing tree
I am one single leaf
With rips, folds, and tares
-the ugly on a beautiful tree
I am from the beauty
of the Cross adorned with Him
-stained and cleaned again
I am one body part
With scars, pain, and faults
-the marks on a beautiful body
I am from the Saturday mornings
Drenched in the smell of Clorox and
Sundays in the smell of wine and apple juice
I am one single person
With darkness at the core
-the same as everyone else
I am from the interpretations
Of those around me
- always changing, trying to learn
I am one part of a whole
The black spot in the fruit
-one step closer to higher knowledge
I am from the perfect her
Though not through birth but
Through everything else, please let me be of likeness
I am from various people, various ideals, but somehow I
Am me
