Where Are You?

Empty.

In a small room, I reach out to you.

My hand is smacked,

Rejection.

I yell out to you,

No answer.

But I can hear your heart beat,

I yell out louder, and

As the room gets colder

The pace of your heart

Beats. Slower,

I know you're there

I know you can hear me

I know you want to answer

Decline.

Once there was a place

Once there was a time

That you would smile,

At the sound of my voice.

Now you cringe,

Ignore.

I need you,

To open up your ears,

To open up your heart,

To open up your mouth,

Respond.

Despereate for you,

I cry out.

All out of chances,

To  make things right

I filter everything

You're around,

Just not for me.

You exist,

Nonexistent.

Where are you?
