Where are you inspiration?
Where are you inspiration?
Are you within my mother? A brave mother she is.
Are you between the sky and the ground? Searching for a purpose left unfound?
Or are you underneath a rock? Where do I find you?
Do I find you under my nose? Can I find you on a map?
Do you come and go with my thoughts?
Or were you here all along?
Never lost, no wrong place at any wrong time.
You were under a rock while in the sky.
In the dark night with the bitter wind you follow.
You’re everywhere and not at all hard to find.
I have learned that I see you when I’m not trying at all and at the same time I don’t.
I only see you when I am truly looking.
I’ve finally found you.
From listening to my music,
Looking at those around me that have succeeded.
I find you in pretty sunsets from my bedroom window.
In my dreams with all the weird things that happen.
Even within my snarky jokes with my friends.
You are in the hundreds of stories I’ve read,
Within all the plot twists and within the author’s world that makes me forget my own.
Inspiration, you reveal yourself in how the characters grow.
Comprehending that the character has evolved is proof that I might be able to as well.
I want to grow like that.
