Where the Blame Lies

To Whom it May Concern;

I blame you.

I blame you

for not understanding sooner

that you are in control.

Of your life, of your love,

of your future.

I blame you

for not speaking up

when it counts

and speaking your mind

when it hurts.

I blame you

for staying up too late

only to regret it the morning after.

I blame you

for not paying attention

to anything but yourself.

I blame you

for writhing over feelings

instead of seeking help.

I blame you

for all of these things -

but - I also blame you

for the happiness.

How could I not?

Although I know

you did not try your hardest -

you tried.

You made mistakes.

You learned.

You created your own happiness.

Thank you for that.

Yours,

Truly.
