Where Did You Go

I look around

And I see nothing,

Nothing at all.

I thought,

I thought for sure

That when I turned around

You would be right there

Ready to catch me if I fell

But you weren't.

Somewhere,

Somewhere deep inside,

I knew you were gone

But I hoped.

Where did you go,

And why am I alone?
