Where the fault lies

That fire did start with a match didn't it?

A single flame that led to charred forest

Or was it a single word that had turning severed that forest?

Was it the match start the fire that killed that person?

Or did the rumors and lies suffocate the person before the fire did

Was it that drop that flooded that dam?

Or was all the bitterness that added continuously until the dam truly broke?

Was it the volcano that exploded that caused the molten mess

Or was it the liquid hot anger that caused the eruption?

It had to be the tsunami that tossed around the weightless bodies

Could it have been manipulation by the powerful that swayed the people?

It takes a few drops of water to irrigate a desert

It takes millions of people to build a somewhat mediocre society

Greatness always declines faster than it was built

And ruins always seem to haunt us for our miserable entirety of life

So why do we selfish beings not enjoy the good parts of life we are given

Can it not end with that single flame?
