Where have they gone?

Not to be rude, but where are the youth?
Lost in their phones, perhaps? Or squandering their lives away?
I do not know where are the youth.
Where are the youth who are the future?
Where are the youth who will carry on the torch?
Silence...like an empty well, you only hear your echo calling back: "Where are the youth?"
Where are the youth who aspired and achieved? Where have they gone? I do not know.
Sad to see so many bright minds sold to technology, drugs, violence and hate. Where are the youth?
Over the hill, there! A small yet blindingly bright light shines in the distance. Bells ringing announcing the arrival of......the youth?
A small group, no more. Yet their brightness exceeds the rest of them. There is still hope, that is how it is destined to be; a small group leading the rest. Years from now, they will call out to the sky: "Where are the youth? Where have they gone?".
A voice will answer: "Over the hill, there!"
