Where Hope Walked
After the fire, the hills breathed out a quiet ache. Ash lay like dust from an ancient ruin. The trees stood still and bare, as though they had mourned, yet the Earth did not forget its Maker. Nature walked the valley, clothed in patience. Her hands were scarred, but steady as before. Beside her came Hope, gentle and unashamed. He walks wherever Destruction has passed. He spoke of mornings no night could swallow. "Rise," he said, "for breath is given again." The ground received the word in silence. Roots stirred in secret, hidden from sight. Green broke forth where sorrow had rested, and birdsong returned, sent as if commanded. The wind came softly, passing between them. She whispered, "Restoration walks with you. Mercy is new where the fire has been" Hope and Restoration dwelt there and were not overcome.
