Where I am from
I am from a world with two sides,
from a glorious day and a terrible night.
Like knights they forever are locked in an endless duel.
I am from a loving family,
who have a powerful place in my life,
and whom all carry a heavy weight on their shoulders.
I am from hitting rock bottom
without knowing who to tell.
I am from a pain that cuts like a knife,
with no escape from the pain
and with no one to help me get over it.
I am from wanting to change
and never trying to.
I am from the pain that made me lose who I thought I was,
but now I know that I never lost myself,
But was just refined to be a better version of myself.
I am from the need for help,
and never asking for it.
I am from wanting to give in,
but always fighting harder than before,
as I see the faces of the ones who I know love me the most.
I am from a powerful evil
(Darker than midnight,
colder than ice)
that I have fought for years.
Buried deep in the catacombs of my mind,
is a door locked away.
Memories are pushing on the door,
but it doesn’t release the pain.
These moments shaped who I am,
everchanging, never slowing.
I am from these sorrows, I was forged,
and I will never be the same.
