Where I Am From

A home to the Rocky Mountains A land of the planes A place for the highest The place I was made Where all of the cities Appear to be pretty There are also homes For those who are living The sky can be clear But then become queer The weather always changes Like bipolar faces I enjoy the fresh air But am annoyed by the wind I hate how it howls amongst humankind The snow is okay But I love the rare rain We are used to altitudes And have nice attitudes We enjoy all of nature For she is our neighbor We have towering mountains And plains without houses Colorado is not popular And doesn’t care for astronomers But we can be friendly And are nowhere near smelly With no beaches like Florida Or popularity like California Colorado is not tiny And can be kind of lively But for a hometown, Colorado is okay
