Where I am From

Getting off the bright yellow bus walking home,

I drop my stuff off and immediately run outside.

Knocking on my best friend's door, Jorey and Haley

Yay, they can play, deciding what to do..

Going to Sunset beach was always a given in the Summer.

We grab our suits and then zoom on our bikes down Timber Lane.

Coming up on the hill with determination, the horizon is a large mass of water.

Flying down the hill, we drop the bikes and

Run to the pier!

Laughter, cries, and screams we,

All push each other off into the water, then pull ourselves up

Again and Again and Again.

On calm nights walking to the Convenience store,

Getting sweet candy or cool icees…

Either bright blue, with blue raspberry flavoring or

Bloodshot red, with cherry flavoring….

Those represent my childhood!

I go to lay in my bed thinking

About how great my day was and

How I got to spend it with my friends

The next morning the birds are chirping and I

Repeat.
