Where I am now

The path we walk,

of all the places it can go,

it will always lead us back home.

To the place where our journey began,

and to the memories we once had.

To the place where we fell and laughed,

ate chocolate, and cried tears and

somehow conquered our fears.

It is our path of roses and thorns.

It is a gift and a curse

a time of love and abandonment.

A path full of weeds and stones,

Which we had tripped on

every once in a while

 At times when I can,

I sit back and look at my path of twists and turns.

And, I smile at the start and

where I am now.
