Where I Come From
I am from the warmth the sunshine gives,
the life it offers to the world.
I am from the waves crashing on the shore,
as they wash the dirt away.
I am from the back roads that take me to unknown places,
and allow me to feel free.
I am from the summer breeze,
as it leads me to the direction I should go,
from the spring rain as it offers cleansing from situations past.
I am from the milk that gives me strength to carry on,
from the meat that protects my fragile bones.
I am from God,
who chose to give me life,
and loves me as His child.
I am from the seat in front of Kyle
as he teaches me about God and His will for me.
I am from the anchor of the boat in unstill waters,
the life that crashes against me.
I am from the diamond in the rough,
like innocents in the midst of the guilty.
I am from the moon that reflects the sun's light on those in the darkness,
the one's that are lost.
I am from the forest that's gravity,
forcing me close to those I love,
and telling me to never leave.
I am from the ground,
through which life was breathed into me,
and as I grow,
I will return to where I am from;
God's arms.
