Where I Come From & Where Im Going

I come from a place where people don’t follow the “Fruits of the Spirits”, they follow the roots of all evil; people kill, steal, and destruct. I come from a place where selling drugs is the only way to make it and weed is the only way to ease the mind so you better take it. I come from a place where the word “Hi” is a mean mug. I come from a place where men rather have sex instead of love. And every time you turn your head *turns head* there is a young girl pregnant. I come from a place where R.I.P t-shirts is the new gear and sagging is swagging I come from a place where children my age are dying. I am only 17 and people’s families are crying. I come from a place where the only way you are known is if you hoop, rap, pregnant, laid up with someone, or was humiliated. People do not really mention success. I ask God why I have to live in fear. 40-60 people in small flint dying per year. I don’t get an answer just a long pause…… “You were put on this earth for a reason” Then I scream: what’s my reason? Give me my answer? When my righteousness and opportunities are going to knock at my door? When will my hometown be better? I’m going to a place where kill, steal, and destruct do not exist. The words stupid, retarted, and ignorant does not enter the mind of the human body. I’m going to a place where opportunities are always ringing my doorbell. I’m going to a place where people will come to my office with a mouth full of questions and leave with a mind full of answers. I’m going to a place where I will not be your b-word nor your 3-0-4 and I’ll be darn if you call yourself seeing me on Saginaw, Dort Highway, Cournna Rd, even Flushing Rd. I’m going to a place where I will be treated like a lady. I am young, beautiful, black, and intelligent. I am a friend, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, and soon to be a wife. I am Chinquay Sisson. And I am going to a place where people will understand me. The Real Me
