Where I Want to Be
Somewhere there’s a place I’d like to be.
Where there are blue skies every noon
Every night a full moon
That reflects off a lake like a bulb would a mirror.
Where every day you could see life clearer.
Where birds sing a beautiful song and every animal knew the tune.
Every month is as breezy and careless as June.
Where there is no need for rain to make pretty colors in the sky.
Where there is no need for tears to cry.
Where good only got better.
Where in the mail you only receive a strawberry letter.
Where love and happiness wasn’t a pursuit
But was a reality, was actual truth
Where to care too much was the most harm you could do.
Where the phrase “I love you” still meant “I love you”
If such a place ever existed then “there” is where I want to be.
