Where Im From

Where I’m From

I am from books

From Cardigans and skinny jeans

I am from the suburbs

From the snow and the wind

I am from Reunions and Christmas

From Shelia and Adrian

I am from gossip and second chances

From the stork and Santa Claus

I’m from Boston, curry chicken and tamarinds

From the lung cancer my grandfather got

From my mother’s 13 brothers and sisters

I am from the family tree that stands on my grandmother's coffee table
