Where I'm From

I am from the cold seats of the Izod Center,

seeing the Princess zipping along the ice.

I am from speeding down the street,

in my pink Barbie jeep.

I’m from the curly hair of my mother

I am from pushing around my little brother

I am from sleeping in between the sheets of a warm bed

I am from being stuck in a book I just read

I'm from trips to Hershey Park and

staying up way past dark

I am from bouncing around on the trampoline

I am from the the short green grass,

pushing hard with every pass

I am from blocking a goal

I am from country concerts on hot summer nights

I am from cheering on my very best friend under the Friday night lights
