Where Im From

                                  Where I'm From

I'm from death walking back from the store with skittles and an Arizona

Living in society for the white man is like sippin on a Corona

I'm from blessed to see 18 no i'm blessed to have made it to the end of the week

Girls worried about their hair and nails being on fleek

When they should be worried about the company they keep

And the male attention they seek

Males ain't looking for a wife no more just some good sex to put them to sleep

Instead of asking what are you plans for the future it's are you a freak?

Being yourself is frowned upon your society's black sheep

Everybody wants to play in the ditch until things get steep

This generation fears the thought of somebody actually loving them so it's no loyalty we creep

They say it's plenty other fish in the sea until the water gets too deep

I know black women tired of losing their sons to the streets

Everytime she hears a gunshot her heart skips a beat

Hoping these streets ain't blow her sons brains from his head to his feet..
