Where I'm From

I'm from back roads and BarBQ's From short cuts across the field to "I'll race ya." I'm from a house on the hill in the woods. I'm from a family of sailors and soldiers. From being one of the guys to being Daddy's baby girl. I'm from a tight knit family to "where has everyone gone?" I'm from Full House, Sister, Sister, and Hey Arnold. From piggy back rides to "let's go faster." I'm from "I miss the old times." I'm from wild summer nights and staying warm winter mornings. From parties on Saturday to praising the Lord on Sunday. I'm from forgiveness. I'm from disappointment and disaster. From "one day, I promise, we'll get out of here." To please don't make me leave I'm from "keep your head up kid." I'm from strong wills and strong minds. From not giving in and giving up. I'm from unforgettable times. From being alive to feeling alive. I'm from "I'm getting there."
