Where I'm From
I am from the stage
Music, lights, curtins, applause
The cheering, laughter, inside moments
The block I went trick or treating on every year
The playground around the corner
Where I wrote my first poem
I am from the pages
The stories found deep within the cover
Mysteries hidden in the attic, romance waltzing through the ballroom
Fantasy on a shelf in the library
The smile that awakes with me in the morning
A force field, keeping away all evil
A warm light, shining on my friends
I’m from the writing
Letters from the heart
A flowing river of verbs and adjectives, spilling from my mouth
A waterfall, splashing on the pages far below
I am from the languages
Born to english
Adopted by spanish and now hebrew
The culture seeping into me
Filling my insides, a feeling of home
I am from the trees
Shady afternoons, a book in hand
The water
To which I take to like a fish
The air
I feel under my wings as I soar, high above all my troubles
The fire
A burning flame, deep inside, that keeps me going
The magic of all combined
I am from the earth, please don't take her away
