Where I'm From
(poems go here) I’m from God
Not just one, but the other 33 million
I’m from ice cream trucks and day care centers
Where I had most of my childhood
I’m from hide and seek
Under the computer table.
I’m from broken arms and legs.
Five times until today.
I’m from Pikachu and Squirtle
They were my childhood.
I’m from the tomatoes in the back yard.
Dying out in the harsh winter.
I’m from curry
frying in the pot
I’m from Oakbrooke Curve
What I call the circle of life
I’m from blood and bruises
Staying in my memory
I’m from what happens now
Not what will or has happened
I’m from video games
Flowing through my veins
But what matters most is that
I’m from my parents,
Helping me with life itself.
