Where I'm From
I'm from dogs waiting at the door
having fun and settling scores
I'm from praying before we eat
and taking shoes off of feet
I'm from upstairs and downstairs
where socks don't always come in pairs
I'm from in bed at nine
and seeing family all the time
I'm from places to go
and hard work always shows
I'm from Thanksgiving is here
but no family is near
I'm from daddy is dead
and crying in bed
I'm from Santa ain't real
and scars just won't heal
I'm from friends galore
and nice to the core
I'm from believing in heaven
and just being Devon
