Where I'm From

I am from chocolate, within the warm, fresh cookies, the leftovers cookie dough feasts and the messy wars. I am from music, the notes heard on the summer breeze beneath the trees, swaying to the beats of country songs. I am from darkness, hidden away with my sister dreaming of places far from here, listening to the storm fall silent outside. I am from laughter, arising up from the messy room, where fun is always present and clean never exists, and the day never quits. I am from memories, you place away in books and boxes, waiting for another day to come out and glow before hiding again beneath new precious moments.
