Where I'm From

I am from tree’s, from pledge, and parties
I am from the southern roots of Amarillo Texas
I am from the purple orchids, the weeping willow
I am from Christmas Eve games and humor,
From Bertha Jackson and Kenneth Jackson and Christman’s
I am from the maybe-laters and constant complainers
From it is what it is and when you pay your own bills.
I am from Sunday afternoon football games, my dad’s once a week head shaving ritual, and sleeping all day on Sundays.
I’m from Colorado, chocolate pie and potatoes O’ryan
From the crotch rocket crashing, the Bel-air rebuilding, and the stiches on the back of my head.
I am from the papers barrieddeep inside a perfume drenched hat box.

This is modeled after a poem from which the author described where they were from. Here i gave my own story.
