Where I’m from

I am from the townhouses and corner stores

Where the lil kids ride their bikes to in any weather

They say I came from the trenches

From cut up hot dogs and beans for dinner

I am from”fix your face before I fix it for you”

I came from a place that taught you life lessons that were not from your parents

I learned that everybody is your friend

Even the ones you trust the most

I am from where people will try their hardest to rap but can not do it

I came from came single mothers and not a lot fathers on the block

And where everybody in the neighborhood goes to the same carryout in the plaza
And the people that work their serve you faster than a jaguar in the desert

We upgraded from the hood to the suburbs

Went from just curbs to sidewalks

Went from you can not go down the block to come in when the street lights come on

I met people that were” sneeker than a fox in july”

Which helped me learn to watch who i hang out with

I was nice, smart, intelligent kid who matured into a different mindset

From” playing with fire”

To become a better person

Now I live in a neighborhood that's like a community

But bonds as a unity

I came from nothing

To having something

Living started as something that  was not good

To where it is now great

I am just an educated and multicultural light skin boy from maryland shawdy.

Who just wants to improve in life.
