Where I’m from

I am from pumpkin pie and cheesecake on thanksgiving day

I am from hopscotch drawn with colorful chalk

and from watching redbox movies on a Saturday night

I am from bacon frying on the stove

from my feet don’t touch the ground by Stoney larue

I am from my mommas belly

I am from chilli on cold winter nights

and from playing hide and seek on many acres of land

I am from the kitchen aide making cookies

from the Hannah Montana days and the Jonas brothers band

In my closet

There are boxes full of yearbooks

With old school years

Which I was in

As time rolls by I still know where I am from
