Where I’m From

I’m from PS4’s to cleaning floors

From sitting on the couch to wiping down shower doors

I wouldn’t say I’m rich but I’m not poor

At least I know at dinner I know I can ask for more

I’m from chicken every night to last slices of pizza that cause fights

I’m from dad making dinner, “what’s in the the pot dad” I had to peek

From going out to eat to leftovers on the daily for weeks

I’m from two younger brothers, yes I’m the oldest

I’m from being the “coolest big brother in the world” yeah I’m the coldest

From “You’re supposed to be the role model” to “Mom it wasn’t my fault”

I’m from playing outside in my driveway to getting ready to drive away

I’m from playing swords to playing with my words

From hide and seek to the having girls taking a peek

I went from little John to big John

I’m from put your clothes on to mow the lawn

From football games to fishing trips up at dawn

Me and my dad playing catch on the lawn

I’m from having both parents I can count on
