Where I’m from poem
I’m from A world of fear
a part of
Reality but,
The bright future
Dominates the
Darkness of the world
I was in a place where
No child should have
To go through, sounds
Of the sirens rushing,
Sounds of buck shots fired,
Broken bottle glass and darkness
Of life and death but at least
There is always sunshine
The diverse ethnicity through
A young kid’s brown eyes as he
Walks around in different
Places with a bright smile to
Other faces “hello there”
I was born with a label that
Defines my race that
Will be with me until I
I fade away
I bring a smile to a
Person’s face and a hand
Of respect but others deny
For what I give to them
Reality is where dreams are
Crushed but dreams are
Where ideas and imagination are
Created for success but fades
Away when you wake up
Back to reality.
I hear the great rhythm of
Growing pains 3
a person who helped me
paint the picture of my life
growing up what is was like
and stepping through
the mind of logic
A father that had the
Same name as his son
Wonder will I ever find him
And a question unsolved
Why he left a boy to protect
His young mother from a heartbreak
The 15 years of memoires
Are like 15 episodes
Of a teenager’s life where
Everything has happened and
Will continue on until its ends and after a bad day there’s always Brighter day after
