WHERE SILENCE BLEEDS
Listen, mine lives there
If you lean in close enough to silence
You'll hear it
The quite breaking and bleeding of my heart
Mine leaves there! In silence
In the dark corners
Between words that never made it past my lips
Where my heart grew heavy with the weight of unsaid things
It aches that I can't say it out
Yet it shatters more when it resides within
Should I cage the storm within my ribs
Or let it fall from my eyes, my voice or
From the fragile places I keep hidden
I question myself
Though tears require permission to exist
As though grief must first knock politely
Before entering my heart
So instead.......
I bleed on paper
I bleed on paper because silence is too heavy to carry
And when the nights grows longer than my thoughts
I bleed on paper
Because ink is the only language my pain understands
Where the pen becomes my blade
and the page becomes a confession booth
As I bleed on paper
Somewhere between the ink and ache
Between the breaking and breathing
Somewhere in the ruins of this silence
I bleed...... on paper
But still, a stubborn fragment of my soul, refuses to die
