Where Was He?
Where was he?
Forsee the dream I once would flee my skin to bleed
Where was he
When the demons wearing innocent smiles came crashing in
Stole my identity
Pumped me with chemicals
Nah, son
Just sit down, and eat
But why eat if I can't even hope to dream a dream if the whole world wants to take it from me?
Where was he?
When all the cries blared like sirens wail
In the night
What happened?
Was it me, the closet, the stagefright?
Where was he?
Plans for me? But not a dime and my pocket
And still don't understand why he gave this to me.
I see the world differently
He didn't even try to save me.
Where was he?
When my faith failed in him.
Where was he?
I turned to the truth and spilled it.
I turned the curse into a gift that filled my days
But Father pays homage to the good ones
And forgets all the strays.
Where is he?
Sitting in some booth, filling out papers
Maybe somewhere in the sky
Bleeding his heart out?
Where is he?
I was weak then but now I am strong.
A father above made me with a call to heed
The choice to make this life the waking dream.
Rid the world of monsters and nightmares and pay homage to the real father that made me, breaks me
But never disgraced me.
