Where were you?

You were given the perfect life to live

You had three sons and one precious daughter

Your husband could have given you the world

But you walked out on everything you had

You tore our family's hearts to pieces

I had waited on you to come back home

But not once, did you ever look back

First came the fights that you never tried to solve

Next came the separation of my brothers and me

Rarely saw my father and never saw you

My brothers disappeared when I needed them the most

My father disappeared when I needed them the most

And you disappeared when I needed you the most

I became lonely and angry and scared

Love disappeared when I needed it the most

But after all those years

I can still give you the love that you never gave me
