Where will you be?

This is a song I am currently writing and recording. I am a folk style singer and guitar player, or so I am told thats what I am. Hope y'all enjoy reading this as much I enjoyed writing and recording it.  Let me know if I can add the link to the recording on here. Thanks!

Where will you be, when this world falls apart?

Lost at sea or drowning in some one else’s heart?

Lost in a field of contention or just playing your part?

When this life started out, we were all the same.

Just different names rushing to grow up and have it place on a stone in a grave.

Never taking a moment to sit back and appreciate.

A rose in bloom,

a flake from the sky,

or the momentary twinkle of innocence

in a child’s eye.

Where will you be when your world comes apart at the seams?

Wondering the wastes in hopes to find a new dream

Sunk in the bottom of a bottle of Jim Beam

Or basking in the sunlight, counting clouds and making plans for the next theme.

What will we do when our children ask where have we been?

Try to explain the cuts and bruises of life and its schemes.

And even though we gave up on ours, we beg them to follow their dreams.
