while the city stretches

I sit like a cat

Upon a windowsill

While the city beneath me

Stretches and yawns

The sun pokes her head

Up over the waking giant's back

And I, powerless against sleep's reigns, close my eyes to her light

I, powerless to the whining sun, sleep once more

While the city stretches
