While your gone

You left us 6 years ago and its been awhile

since I heard your voice or seen your face

So I am writing you this letter as a way to

update you on what going on since you left this place

I want to know how are you

and how you been taking care

But then I know your in a better place so

save it no need to share

I don’t want you to be upset but since you

left things just aren’t the same

Its hard going day to day without being able

 to say your name

Everyday is a struggle without you, trust me

 in general life is rough

But Im pretty sure if you were here it would

be so much easier to adjust

Ive been trying to make choices so that

you would be proud of me

Not to sound cliché but why did you have to

 go this is challenging

There has been some additions to the family,

I thought you should know

I have a 7 year old boy, I really wish you were

 here to see him grow

Your house is still being used for the

holidays, I just want you to be aware

But before you reply don’t worry its in good

hands your kids are taking care

Let me tell you how I miss your cooking and

the soup you used to make

Once again you have good kids but why

didn’t you teach my mom how to bake

I remember I told you I was going to be a

lawyer see that just didn’t work out

I’m making my way into the medical field, I

hope I’m going the right route

But now I have knowledge of the things you

 were going through

As a kid young and dumb I did not have a

 Clue

So I was not prepared for the day when

 you would leave us

It was very hard to believe it hit me like

a big yellow school bus

Theres so many things I need to share, I’m

trying not to rant

I really just want to talk to you, but I just

 simply can’t

This letter is filled with just words which can’t express

 the way I feel

Just know there is a hole in my life that will

 probably never heal

See these are all the things I would share

with you or would like to say

But unfortunately heaven doesn’t have a

mailbox so this letter would have to stay
