The whiles of the devil. Part 2

1 Peter 5:8                  New English Translation

8 Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.

The whiles of the devil. Part 2

If he can suppress my spirit until it ceases to function

And my spiritual senses grow increasingly dull

He will inject into my thoughts that God is really leading

Me towards a renewed mind that only Christ can fill

As soon as man spirit ceases to simply co-operate

It becomes almost impossible for the Holy Spirit to strife

An element is through God’s purpose to change the mind

God’s resources are cut-off for a spiritual growing life

What is the answer I cry out, I am so easily persuaded?

By my body and my soul which seem to be all of me

They seem to direct my life as their territory I invaded

And rendered me so helpless, that I hang on to “what I'll be”
