whirling life
Life had always worked in my favor,
My daddy would always pick my side
and my older brothers would always wonder why
I just could not sleep without my soothing daddy by my side
I was still ten, but I HAD to sleep in my own bed by then
I was spoiled and loved on,
I was raised by my mamíta to always be la mejor niñita
But my mamíta never taught me how fragile life could be.
However precious life may seem, it becomes uncontrollable, specifically in May
and all those things that were planned have newer plans growing along the way
Life without my daddy was never a serious thought in my head
I mean, he was 40 when he had me, but noooo, he cannot leave me until after I'm wed,
He passed the 7th of May and I stil remember that horrible day.
I was fifteen at the time living with just my father then had to move with my mother the next day,
I come to learn that he passed from a heart attack, the silent killer
I grew from my grievances, and till this day, I still grieve my father's absence but there's something I just learned that is even bigger,
Dwelling over the past isn't living.. Honoring my father's presence is the reason for my breathing
