The Whisper
It was love at first sight.
When our green eyes locked I know we both felt it,
That fire that coupled our racing hearts, that unbreakable, unspoken force that linked us.
I couldn't keep it inside any longer.
I put my lips to your ear and spoke those three magic words.
I knew they would set us free.
You put your lips to my ear in kind and with a whisper everything changed. Life was no longer just About living.
It was about loving.
We lived in such blissful simplicity.
We spent our days teasing and smiling, laughing and sighing,
We hadn't a care in the world.
Many months passed this way
Until that fateful tragic day when everything that we had built
Was ripped away and brutally killed.
Before you left you promised your feelings would never change,
That we'd stay in touch and it would all be ok.
Now here I am and there you are and when I whisper you can't hear me.
Sometimes I swear I still hear your voice like a ghostly whisper on the wind
Reminding me that you existed, that what we had was real. That whisper is all I have to hold onto now That you're no longer in my arms.
