A whisper at the door

I hear a knock-

Subtle at first, then louder.

A soft whispering:

"Come see the world!"

Should I open the door

Or hide in the dark?

My fate lies open

Like a country road.

"I'm too afraid" say I-

But no! Not today.

I run to the door

And throw it open!

I greet adventure

Like a new companion;

We shake hands

Like friends of old.

Off we run, into the unknown,

Unafraid of the path ahead;

Reckless we go,

Shaking off our fears.

Dear friend, let this be the day

When you too hear the whisper-

Open the door and run away

With a brand new adventure.
