Whispers

I was told to close my eyes And listen to the singing. As the wind kept calling To the trees as they were whispering A gentle push from a loving hand Told me to keep on moving So that we could rise above And be more than just conforming His voice fills the inside of your mind Taking control of your thoughts and dreams tonight Making the dark seem more transparent to the light You tell me that I lied; you told me I should die I tried, did my best to make things right It wouldn’t good enough for you I tell you that I’m through Done with all these assumptions You’re blinded by the lies, They force you into a prison One made just for you To poke into all your soft spots, I’m bleeding from my heart. I feel the need to just stop, But how can I? The chains keep holding us back What do you plan to do? You need to fly, And go up real high Or else you might fall through. I keep saying I love you But I can’t reach your mind I’m the dust in the wind, the voice in your head. So close your eyes Just listen to the wind, The whispers on the trees I’m calling you to me For no matter how bad it gets I’m still here for you Even if you won’t be here for me I have your back, Now fly my little butterfly Up to the sky I pray you’ll be dreaming of me in the night Rise above Don’t conform just to spite me Cause I know deep down you like me And I know you’d miss me If I died.
