A voice whispers in my ear

Filling me with doubt

Telling me I can't do this

And I definitely can't do that

To just shake away the voice

A simply impossible dream

Because the voice is me

The voice grows louder

Each passing moment

So I write down these words

To quiet the pounding whispers

That ring in my mind

There's no place to hide

From the words inside

Although it's impossible

I continue to try

To silence the voice

And free my mind
