Whispers of the Mirror
In the stillness of the morning light,
A figure stands before the glass,
With eyes that search, yet see no right,
A battle fought, a shattered past.
The whispers echo, soft yet cruel,
“Not enough,” they sneer, they taunt,
A dance around a shadowed pool,
Where longing and despair confront.
Each meal a war, each bite a sin,
To feel the hunger, to chase the thin,
A fleeting ghost that haunts the mind,
A treasure lost, a love unkind.
In vacant rooms where thoughts entwine,
The voices weave their veiled decree,
“Perfection lies in slender lines,
A fragile frame, a spirit free.”
The heartbeats quicken, a frantic song,
As counting calories feels so right,
Yet in this grip, the soul grows wrong,
A candle flickers in the night.
Once, laughter danced within these walls,
A vibrant pulse that filled the air,
Now silence reigns, as shadow calls,
And hope begins to dim with despair.
The world outside moves on, it seems,
Oblivious to the inner fight,
While dreams dissolve in whispered screams,
And days drift on, devoid of light.
In crowded rooms where life should thrive,
A mask is worn, a smile lies thin,
To hide the hurt, the will to survive,
To fade away and keep within.
But in the depths, a flicker glows,
A voice that whispers, soft and clear,
That healing comes where love bestows,
The courage found to face the fear.
To step beyond the mirror's snare,
To find the worth that dwells inside,
To seek joy, to learn to care,
To embrace the flaws, where beauty hides.
So take my hand, let's walk this way,
Through tangled thoughts, we'll find a spark,
In every step, let love convey,
The journey shared, igniting the dark.
Together we will learn to see,
The strength that blooms in every scar,
To turn the suffering into plea,
Of finding peace, of who we are.
No longer bound by haunted sights,
We'll dance in shadows, stretch our wings,
Embracing imperfection's rights,
And in our hearts, new hope will sing.
For in this battle, still you stand,
A warrior forged in flames of pain,
With every tear, we carve the land,
And from the hurt, new life we gain.
So let us share this fragile tale,
Of suffering, struggle, and release,
For in our stories, love prevails,
And through the storm, we find our peace.
